Langendorf showcases aluminium box body tipper at the IAA

A total of five trailers will be presented by Langendorf at the forthcoming IAA trade show in Hanover, Germany. Four of them are on stand E06 in Hall 27 and one Flexliner in the outside exhibition area T13.

Langendorf is exhibiting an aluminium box body tipper trailer on its stand at the IAA – a model ideally suited to applications involving light excavation, large volume bulk materials and milled material.

Designed for a wide range of applications, the exhibited vehicle has a kerb weight of 5,100 kg and offers a load volume capacity of 25 cubic metres in the specification shown.

The side walls consist of an aluminum alloy 4 mm thick wall and are made as hollow profiles with dimensions 200 x 50 mm. This results in a smooth finish to the body, both inside and outside the box. Depending on customer requirements, wear plates can optionally be added inside in the matching thickness.

This model has been engineered by Langendorf to offer the best compromise between low unladen weight and both payload potential, and maximum durability.

The aluminium used by Langendorf features a Brinell hardness rating of HB110, making it approximately 50% harder than the material otherwise commonly used in vehicle construction.

The high strength, and therefore impressive durability of the trailer, is further ensured by the short frame-distances in the floor construction.

The tailgate is inclined by 15°, although this can be specified as 25° for new factory orders. It is locked automatically by two tie rods. For excavator removal a manual lock is provided.

A low pressure front wall press ensures a high tipping angle of more than 52°. The tarpaulin can be operated conveniently via the control system.

The trailer, model SKA 24-7.5, is equipped with BPW disc brake axles as standard; axles from other manufacturers can be specified at the customer’s request.

The specification also includes a lifting first axle, an electro-pneumatic paver brake with automatic lifting and automatic lowering when tipping, plus RSS (Roll Stability Support).

Like all Langendorf trailers, the specification can be customised to suit a customer’s bespoke requirements – with a choice of everything from axle configurations to tarpaulin control systems, including electric and manual control functions.
