Latest super-spec Scots tippers confirm Hyva’s 4th successive record year

With its sales of tipping equipment, skiploaders and hooklifts at an all-time high, 2015 will be Hyva’s fourth consecutive record year in the UK.

A key element of this success has been the near - continuous introduction of new products, most notably the ALPHA range of tipping cylinders and the TITAN range of skiploaders and hookloaders. In each product group, new features and technical advances have resulted in significant customer benefits confirming Hyva as the genuine market leader in each of its market sectors.

In Scotland, three of the very latest Hyva - fitted tippers confirm this trend perfectly.

Always looking to maximise its vehicle productivity, T. French & Son of Cumnock has just put on the road a pair of new big cab Volvo FH 8x4 tippers destined for long distance agricultural work. Running 75 trucks, these are the first Hyva tipping gears in the T. French fleet. In complete contrast, a new  ultra - lightweight Wilcox MegaLite trailer and Renault tag axle tractor has just joined the fleet of JW Morrison of Strathaven.

“I have to say that Hyva’s separate ram and tank FCA137 design is a generation ahead of any eight wheeler tipping gear that we’ve had before” says Tom French Jnr. “It’s lighter, less complicated, easier to maintain and also  lets us put the oil tank pretty much where we want. Whilst we need the big FH cabs for long distance work, we also specced these trucks to be as light as is practically possible, so the Hyva’s reduced weight is obviously appreciated.”

With their Wilcox bulker bodies, 420hp 13 litre engines and Alcoa wheels, French’s new FHs tip the scales at 13,500kgs ready to roll.

Now running 20 artics and 3 rigids, JW Morrison’s trailers have long been standardised on Hyva tipping gears thanks to their low weight, high performance and proven reliability. Stronger yet lighter, the latest FC169’s extra long stroke of 7130mm delivers a particularly high tipping angle that unseats even the stickiest loads.

“From our lengthy experience with Hyva, there’s simply no reason to choose any other tipping gear” says company owner Joe Morrison.

Yet Hyva’s continuing expansion is due to more than having top specification products alone. Equally important is its ability to meet all the various needs of UK fleets in each and every operating environment.

As UK managing director Tony Davies says “Hyva offers customers a complete product range, covering tipping cylinders, tractor kits, skiploaders and hookloaders. More and more, many of the larger truck operators are now working in complementary business sectors, running a combination of different vehicle types. Having one supplier rather than many makes sourcing new equipment easier and more efficient.”
