MANN+HUMMEL extends ENTARON XD air cleaner series

MANN+HUMMEL presents the extended ENTARON XD air cleaner series for construction machines, agricultural machines, gensets and compressors. Sizes are available for nominal flow rates from 7 to 40 m³/min. The series offers high performance for the most important air cleaner parameters such as installation space, separation efficiency, service life, flexibility, servicing and economy.

Speyer, 15 April 2013 – at the 2013 Bauma trade fair, MANN+HUMMEL, development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries, will present the extended ENTARON XD air cleaner series. The series was developed for construction and agricultural machines, gensets and mobile compressors. The name ENTARON XD offers an efficient solution in terms of performance parameters such as installation space, separation efficiency, service life, flexibility, servicing and economy. The available series includes 6 products and covers nominal flow rates from 7 to 28 m³/min. A further size will be available before the end of 2013 for nominal flow rates up to 40 m3/min.

Robust design for difficult conditions

The ENTARON XD is characterised by a robust housing and element design. The function of the filter is therefore assured even under difficult operating conditions. The housing is made from plastic reinforced with fibre-glass. The clean air port and threads are additionally reinforced. The main filter element is equipped with a high performance medium to enable a maximum dust load and long service life. The main element up to the ENTARON XD 28-32 is fitted with a robust plastic centre tube and a spiral wound glue strip. For flow rates higher than 40 m3/min stability is maintained by a metal centre tube. The glue strip fixes the end pleats of the filter element in a defined position. It prevents the pleats sticking together and enables a high and uniform dust load over the whole of the main element. At the same time the spiral wound glue strip serves as protection against improper handling. The filter element is designed to withstand high mechanical stress. The secondary element is screwed into the housing and protects the clean side to the engine during servicing of the main element.

Solution for compact installation space and high performance to size ratio, flexibility and economy

The ENTARON XD achieves a pre-separation efficiency up to 85 percent and now requires less installation space. The compact design is supported by a bracket integrated in the housing and a locking system accessible from the end of the air cleaner. The three-part design of the housing offers flexible positioning of ports in relation to the bracket. The filter therefore offers excellent installation space flexibility. The integrated bracket allows nearly all possible variations for the port position. In addition to the two‑stage version for a nominal flow rate of 40 m3/min the ENTARON is also available as a single-stage variation, the ENTARON MD 40. The ENTARON MD 40 has a modified design to reduce flow resistance and is therefore the ideal filter for applications such as stationary compressors or gensets.

User friendly and easy to service

Servicing is easy and is made from the end of the air cleaner. The ENTARON XD and MD are equipped with a plastic locking device which is easy to open and close. The highly visible orange colour-coded fasteners snap into place and are not in the way when removing or replacing the servicing cover.
