MANN+HUMMEL extends the IQORON air cleaner series

At the 2013 Bauma trade fair MANN+HUMMEL will present its extended IQORON air cleaner series. Three different versions cover nominal flow rates from 4 to 14 m³/min. All the filter elements are equipped with CompacPleat technology and with their oval shape are especially suitable for applications with limited installation space.

Ludwigsburg, 15 April 2013 – at the 2013 Bauma trade fair, MANN+HUMMEL, development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries, will present the extended IQORON air cleaner family. Three different versions cover nominal flow rates from 4 to 14 m³/min. The IQORON was developed for applications with high dust levels such as construction machines, agricultural machines and compressors. The series is characterised by high performance, low installation space requirement and easy servicing and is equipped with an efficient pre-separator with a multi‑cyclone block. A service switch can be integrated in the housing to monitor the filter load. The air cleaners are fitted using mounting points integrated in the housing.

The IQORON-V was developed for applications with limited installation space. Depending on the installation space, the air cleaner is available with a dust discharge valve or scavenging. The version with dust discharge valve achieves a pre-separation efficiency up to 90 percent and with scavenging up to 94 percent. There are currently three IQORON-V sizes available for an air requirement of between 4 to 14 m³/min. The position of the dust discharge is flexible and as a result the IQORON-V can be fitted in a horizontal or vertical position.

The air cleaners of the IQORON-S series are designed for applications where low pressure drop is required such as with compressors and stationary engines. These single-stage air cleaners are based on the IQORON-V series and have the same housing and filter elements. Instead of a pre-separator the IQORON-S is equipped with a raw air grid with filter foam. There are three available sizes, corresponding to the sizes of the IQORON-V series. The modular design makes it easy to retrofit the IQORON-S with a pre-separator in the field should extreme dust conditions suddenly arise.

All the air cleaners of the IQORON series are easy to service. Depending on the size, access for servicing is either from the side or front.

CompacPleat filter element

The core of the IQORON is the CompacPleat filter element developed by MANN+HUMMEL. The design of the CompacPleat filter element offers a larger filter surface area and longer service life in a more compact installation space in comparison to conventional filter elements. In addition, the element is metal free and therefore fully incinerable. The axial bracing of the IQORON ensures the filter is sealed under all operating conditions. These features offer manufacturers and operators of industrial machines considerable advantages compared to conventional two-stage filters.
