MDS.2 - A classic with new genes

With the new, completely revised MDS.2 series, RAUCH sets new standards in the compact class of two-disc fertiliser spreaders. Four basic models with hopper capacities ranging from 500 to 900 litres, provide convincing performance not only in professional crop production, but also in the production of vegetables, hops, fruit and grapes, with high precision, elegant operating convenience and the proverbial MDS reliability.

The new MDS 20.2 top model stands out through a significantly increased fertiliser payload of 2,000 kg. In addition, the MDS.2 series with the newly developed multi-disc M2 spreading discs provides precise spreading patterns at working widths of up to 24 m, even when using problematic spreading materials. The MDS spreading discs can be conveniently and quickly adjusted to suit the desired fertiliser and working width without the use of tools, for normal and late fertiliser application and for boundary spreading. 

RAUCH continues to use the legendary single-chamber hopper, with outstanding emptying properties when spreading on slopes or when performing single-sided spreading at the field border. The power of every MDS.2 basic model can be optimally tuned using the newly developed hopper extension system. The familiar, maintenance- free and long-lasting oil bath transmission for the spreading disc drive, with the slowly running agitator that is gentle on the fertiliser, as used in the predecessor series is also used in the new series. 

The modern design of the MDS.2 sets new accents. The easily adjustable hydraulic or electrical metering slide actuators and the easily accessible adjusting scale have been relocated to the front side of the spreader. These are now in the field of view of the driver and outside the soiling region. Adjustments to the application rate via the E-Click electrical metering slide actuator or the QUANTRON-A driving speed-dependent metering can be easily monitored while driving. Functional, optional warning signs with long-lasting LED lighting ensure a high degree of traffic safety, even in situations with poor visibility.

With a comprehensive range of accessories, the MDS.2 offers an innumerable number of possible applications unmatched by any other series of fertiliser spreaders. The TELIMAT or GSE 7 are precise, remote-controlled border spreading units allowing precise plant nutrition right up to the field border. Fertilising in row cultures is also no problem for the MDS.2. Up to 7 rows can be fertilised at high precision using the optional RFZ-7 row fertilising unit. The MDS leaves no wishes unfulfilled in the cultivation of fruit, grapes and hops. With the RV2M1 option, the valuable fertiliser is applied only to the root region. The tramlines remain free of fertiliser. The hopper of the MDS 8.2 is equipped with many functional details specially designed for the cultivation of fruit and grapes. Truncated corners and wiper plates on the edges and frames prevent damage to the fruit and plants.

The high-quality, meticulously applied power coating, the high proportion of stainless steel components and the use of high quality plastics ensures retention of the value and functionality of the MDS.2 spreader over many years of hard practical use.
