At NUFAM 2025, Schwarzmüller will be presenting its 3-axle stanchion semitrailer without a platform – developed for timber and long goods transport where maximum payload, robust construction, and flexible equipment are essential.

The trailer impresses with its lightweight frame made of high-strength special steel, which offers a payload advantage of up to 500 kg compared to conventional steel frames. The sturdy stanchions with 2-piece stanchions (load capacity 7 t/pair) enable secure loading even with heavy or irregular goods.

Robust and safe: sophisticated technology

An off-road-optimized design with reinforced axle bodies – optionally from SAF or BPW – ensures reliable driving comfort even on forest roads or trails. The built-in lift axle raises and lowers automatically depending on the weight load and can also be used as a starting aid. The chassis is complemented by disc brakes with EBS and stability program (RSS).

To protect against damage, grab deflector plates and covers are mounted between the main frame.

24-volt full LED lighting in accordance with EC standards – powerful work lights and optional additional reversing lights provide optimum illumination and safe working conditions even in poor lighting conditions.

Dimensions, technology, and customization options

With a permissible total vehicle weight of 44 tons, the trailer is a powerful unit for heavy loads. With an unladen weight of only approx. 5.4 tons, a frame length of approx. 13 meters, and a loading height of approx. 1,540 mm, the vehicle is optimally prepared for efficient logistics use.

Users can optionally add an extra-strong 2,500 mm high steel front wall with center supports, an Autonordic heavy-duty band winch, additional cross supports, or a finely adjustable loading pressure gauge.

“With the new stanchion semitrailer without a platform, we are delivering a practical tool for transporting timber and long goods: lightweight, resilient, and flexible along its entire length,” explains Ferdinand Hamedinger, product expert for timber/stanchion vehicles at Schwarzmüller.

The timber semitrailer will be on display this year at the East 2 entrance to the Karlsruhe Exhibition Center.
