SD Services are Penny Hydraulics distributor of vehicle mounted cranes and loading platforms in France. SD Services are the largest commercial vehicle converter in France. Penny Hydraulics are proud to be SD Services supplier of electric SwingLift cranes, hydraulic PH Cranes for 3.5 tonne vehicles and trucks as well as bespoke hoist cranes for specific applications such as down hole handling for some of largest utilities companies in France. Being so well established in France and within the commercial vehicle conversion industry there means that SD Services are the perfect partner with the necessary experience and expertise to specify industry specific listing equipment such as cranes for pickups on their customer’s cranes. Customers have the convenience of choosing a depot near to them and can have the whole of their commercial vehicle kitted out with the necessary equipment at the same time, limiting vehicle down-time. Whilst on site, it was clear that most customers not only had racking installed in their van, but also had other ancillary items installed too…SwingLift van cranes, van lighting, steps etc.

Rob Thomson, Overseas Business Development Manager and Jess Penny, General Manager of Sales at Penny Hydraulics visited the Gevrey-Chambertin depot this week to help finalise the specification of two large scale bespoke crane projects for French water companies. Having design capabilities in- house enables Penny Hydraulics to quickly and easily make any design changes to the cranes without having to out-source the work. With manufacturing facilities in the UK, this enables a really quick turnaround through meeting, specification, design, manufacturing and testing stages.

The two companies are focusing on two bespoke electric cranes at the moment for SD Services key customers. Moving forwards SD Services will be looking at other key Penny Hydraulics lifting equipment including their unique LoadLift loading platform for vans which is ideal for loading items such as oil barrels, trolleys and pallets into the back of vans. The LoadLift loading platform lifts a maximum of 250kgs making it ideal for a wide range of applications. Another key area for growth for the two companies is with Penny Hydraulics new range of hydraulics cranes, PH Cranes. PH Cranes are hydraulic cranes for trucks and pickups, ideal for the 3.5 tonne to 12 tonne commercial vehicle market. The range starts at 0.5 tm lifting capacity and goes up to 5.1 tm lifting capacity. The fact that these cranes offer higher capacity lifting and fixed proportional controls at ground level for safe and precise load handling, mean that these pickup cranes could be a popular option for the French highways, construction and utilities markets.
