Bosch Rexroth develops tailor-made solutions for fork lift trucks up to six tons
The price war in the Asian fork lift truck market is especially intense and manufacturers are extremely cost sensitive. At the same time, however, governments around the world are currently tightening the permissible exhaust emissions for diesel engines and are vigilant about compliance. These newer limit values are hard to adhere to with existing concepts. This is why Bosch Rexroth designers have specially designed the economic SMP12 Positive Control control block for combustion engine fork lift trucks up to six tons. In combination with the A1VO axial piston pump, this significantly reduces diesel consumption and therefore exhaust emissions. With regards to functionality, installation space, weight and cost, it fulfills the typical requirements of Asian manufacturers, who are also increasingly targeting export markets.
This solution replaces the popular Open Center solutions with fixed pumps used on fork lift trucks with payloads of up to six tons. It is especially economical as manufacturers can lower consumption and therefore exhaust emissions with minimal cost and effort. Thanks to the significant reduction in the neutral circulation volume flow, it no longer has an influence on the energy balance and flow distribution. Due to this, the start of the cylinder movement can take place independently of the diesel engine speed. The combination of SMP12 and the A1VO variable pump lowers diesel consumption by up to 11 percent in comparison to fixed systems. Further reductions are possible through more comprehensive interventions in the hydraulic system.
Various fork lift truck manufacturers are already testing the new combination in test vehicles. This required only a small modification effort, as the compact SMP12 and A1VO can be integrated into the requirements of the existing machine concepts. The first test drives have confirmed the savings potential for consumption and exhaust emissions.
Rexroth offers the mechanically operated control block in both right and left-hand versions. With optional flow limitation of the lifting function, which also allows for a reduction in load sensitivity, a wide range of options are available to create a machine with the optimum in operating comfort. Even the application-relevant functions such as the ISO function, which prevents the working hydraulics from moving when the machine's functional concept requires it, and emergency manual lowering of the lifting function are already integrated as standard.
