Robust and quick: The new 2-way directional poppet valve family

Large fine control range with subsequent boost function

Rexroth further expands their wide range of compact hydraulic control elements with the new 2-way directional poppet valve family. The new components are especially robust and, thanks to the boost function, allow for accelerated final movements when lifting and lowering loads. In addition, the factory-calibrated valves fulfill the fork lift truck manufacturers' requirements for narrow tolerances for valve characteristics.

The trend towards higher operating pressures is also growing in mobile applications, such as fork lift trucks and other material handling equipment. Bosch supports this approach with the new KSVS poppet valve family for operating pressures of up to 350 bar. The pilot-operated 2-way/2 position valves are closed in the de-energized position and shut off without leakage.

The fine control range with low hysteresis covers over 80 percent of the nominal flow range and is complemented by a boost function at the end. This characteristic increases productivity through quick final movements when lifting and lowering the lifting forks. In addition, the valve family's low pressure drop allows for quick lowering of the lifting forks through their own weight.

These valves are particularly robust as they have been specially developed for use in mobile working machines. Their service life is at least two million switching cycles at 350 bar. They are designed for ambient temperatures of up to 90°C at 100 percent duty cycle. In the salt spray test, as per DIN 50021, they achieved a value of 720 hours and therefore offer a significantly longer service life than conventional valves on the market.

The reproducibility of valve behavior for hydraulic components is becoming more and more important for the manufacturers of mobile working machines so that they are able to make their machines easier to control with regard to software and with reproducible results. Rexroth fulfills these requirements and calibrates all KSVS valves in the factory so that the individual variation of the poppet valve's cracking pressure is very low. Manufacturers can therefore install them straight away without time-consuming mechanical adjustment and control them simply via electronics.
