The competition took place at the shared facilities of Ponsse and the Ylä-Savo Vocational College in Iisalmi. Held for the third time, this year's competition involved 15 competitors. The competition is part of the development of Ponsse's service business network and serves to strengthen the professional skills of service mechanics.

During the competition, the service mechanics needed to resolve various practical troubleshooting and maintenance tasks and answer certain theoretical questions related to control, electrical and hydraulic systems. In addition, their skills measured in exercises related to mechanical and hydraulic transmission and identifying different components. On Wednesday evening, Andrey Izjurov announced as the winner of the competition. He works as a mechanic in Ponsse's retailer Lespromservis in Syktyvkar. This was the third win recorded by the same company. The first prize this year was a trip for two to any Ponsse unit worldwide.

This was the first time that Andrey Izjurov took part to the competition. By participating, he wanted to find out the level of his skills as a mechanic. He has worked at Lespromservis since 2007, before which he worked as a forest machine operator.

“The exercises were difficult. I did not expect to win, because all of the other competitors were also skilled. I think it is very important that Ponsse offers mechanics such an opportunity for training and development. This was a highly interesting event, and I want to thank everyone involved in organising it. Hopefully, I will be able to participate next year, as well,” said Andrey Izjurov, the winner of the competition.

Competition results:

1. Andrey Izjurov / Lespromservis, Syktyvkar
