  • Lehnhoff offers three screening bucket series—MSL, CSL, and HSL—tailored to different machine sizes and applications for efficient material separation.

  • MSL buckets are compact and ideal for mini excavators in landscaping and trench work, enabling precise soil and debris separation.

  • CSL buckets serve mid-sized excavators, effectively cleaning drainage ditches and excavation pits by separating gravel and soil from larger debris.

  • HSL buckets are heavy-duty tools for large excavators, designed for demanding hydraulic engineering tasks like riverbed dredging and large-scale earthmoving.

  • The screening buckets combine robust construction, wear-resistant components, and adaptable screening options to enhance on-site efficiency and resource conservation.

The right screening bucket for every challenge

Whether on construction sites or in landscaping – demands are constantly increasing. One smart response: intelligent pre-sorting of materials. With Lehnhoff’s three screening bucket series – MSL, CSL and HSL – contractors can make the most of this efficiency potential.

It’s actually quite simple – and often doesn’t even require expensive specialized machines such as mobile crushers: separating soil, sediments and gravel from coarse stones, roots and debris. For this, there’s an often underestimated solution that holds surprising efficiency potential – the right screening bucket from Lehnhoff. In river maintenance, civil engineering or landscaping, these buckets’ well-designed screening floors and robust construction allow for precise material separation, faster workflows and resource conservation. Even for pre-sorting material before it enters crushers or screening plants, they offer a valuable contribution.

Efficiency on solid ground – MSL screening buckets in landscaping

In garden and landscape construction, the MSL screening buckets truly show their strengths: topsoil is efficiently separated from roots, branches or larger stones – creating the ideal foundation for planting areas or lawns. Their open screening floors allow optimal preparation of substrates. Soil and compost are evenly mixed during application, forming a uniform, nutrient-rich base layer.

In civil engineering, the use of screening buckets enables clean separation of coarse gravel and fine materials – particularly when digging service trenches, where the backfill, material should be as free from foreign matter as possible. Thanks to their compact design and flexible adapter systems, MSL models are ideally suited for mini excavators from one to six tonnes – especially on narrow job sites where maneuverability is key.

Keeping trenches clear – screening buckets for drainage systems

A functioning drainage system is essential for flood protection, agriculture and infrastructure. But over time, trenches and ditches become clogged with soil, stones and plant residues. Lehnhoff’s CSL bucket series offers a proven solution here: gravel and soil fall through the screening floor during excavation, while larger stones, root systems or debris remain inside the bucket.

This allows even long drainage ditches to be effectively cleaned with wheeled or crawler excavators – without removing excessive amounts of soil or requiring extensive re-sorting. CSL models also deliver great performance in excavation pits, enabling material pre-sorting right at the point of extraction.

Challenging riverbeds – efficiency in hydraulic engineering

Rivers and streams are dynamic ecosystems – yet deposits, driftwood or sediments can seriously obstruct water flow. To eliminate such issues, riverbeds must regularly be dredged and cleared of coarse materials. With Lehnhoff’s HSL series screening buckets, gravel, stones and foreign matter can be efficiently removed, while water and fine sediments drain away immediately through the screening floor.

Thanks to their heavy-duty build and high wear resistance, they perform reliably even under extreme loads – whether in river restoration, dredging or industrial dewatering. Large material volumes can be processed in a short time, keeping waterways functional and natural.

MSL, CSL or HSL – the right choice for every application

Lehnhoff offers the ideal solution for every machine class and application. The MSL series is designed for mini excavators from one to six tonnes and features a compact, double-conical bucket shape ensuring optimal material flow even in confined spaces. A variety of screening options – from perforated floors to round bars – allow precise adaptation to the material being separated.

The CSL series is built for excavators from six to twelve tonnes and impresses with its robust structure, high throughput capacity and wear-resistant cutting components made from 400 and 500 HB steel. Whether in trench cleaning or excavation pits, these screening buckets are made for demanding tasks with mixed materials.

Lehnhoff’s CSL screening buckets are equipped with heavy-duty rectangular grids or 40 mm round bars made of 400 HB steel, cutting edges in Lehborit 5000 (500 HB steel), and wear-resistant side plates (400 HB steel).<br>IMAGE SOURCE: Lehnhoff Hartstahl GmbH

The portfolio is completed by the HSL series for excavators from ten to fifty tonnes. They are used wherever large material quantities need to be moved quickly and safely – for example in gravel pits, along riverbanks or in heavy earthmoving operations. The solid rectangular or round bars with a uniform 60-millimetre spacing and the reinforced cutting edge make these buckets dependable workhorses for hydraulic and civil engineering.

“Our screening buckets help construction companies work more efficiently and precisely,” explains Sebastian Denniston, Sales Manager OEM at Lehnhoff. “From riverbed maintenance to trench cleaning or landscaping – clean material separation saves time, resources and money.”
