The Bauer Group presents the small separator S300

An economical solution for waste water treatment for small operations

The Austrian Bauer Group headquartered in Voitsberg, Styria, will be presenting the small separator S300 at AGRITECHNICA 2017 in Hanover. This new separator expands the group’s product range in the area of waste water treatment. The device, which is positioned as the successor to the successful COMPACT separator, is intended for use on farms with 30 or more head of cattle and achieves a throughput of up to 16 m³ of substrate per hour. The low purchase costs, the simple setup and the high quality of the components make the S300 a sensible investment for farms of this size.

Developed for use in small operations, the separator S300 weighs only 220 kg with a footprint of 1.3 x 0.5 m and a height of less than 90 cm (including overflow hose and galvanized stand), making it more than suited for its role as a compact separator. Thanks to the high-quality reinforcement of the screw and the floating sieve design, the S300 can withstand even long operating durations with hardly any wear. The installed screw is driven by a 2.2 kW electric motor operating on 400 V / 50 Hz. The optionally available frequency inverter controllers allow operation with other voltages and on a single-phase network. This ensures that it can be used around the world.

The machine can separate commercial waste with a dry matter content (DM) of up to 12 percent into liquid and solid phases – making it something of a replacement for the slurry pit. With the time windows for spreading the slurry growing ever shorter, this separation is more than useful. The liquid substance can be distributed during the legally established time, while the dry substrate can be distributed over a longer period or can be composted. The storage also takes up considerably less space.

With a throughput of up to 16 m³ per hour, the S300 corresponds roughly to its predecessor COMPACT, except that the DM content of the solid is significantly higher at up to 32 percent (from 3 and 5 percent). The more stable solid cake also makes the machine safer and easier to use. It is possible to use sieve baskets with five different gap widths from 0.25 to 1.00 mm.
