The Manitou group is exhibiting 6 models at IFAT, all of them specifically designed for environment-related activities. These forklifts, aerial work platforms and telehandlers solve industrial safety, flow management and productivity issues relating to waste recovery, water treatment and renewable energy. Arnaud Boyer, VP Marketing & Product Development for the Manitou group explains that: “Participating for the third time in a row at IFAT, THE benchmark in terms of trade shows dedicated to the environment, is essential for Manitou Group. This enables us to reach the main players in the industry market, from SMEs to large corporations. The number of visitors to our stand doubled between 2014 and 2016, offering proof of the attractiveness of our solutions.”

The right product for every need

The 150 AETJ-C platform is displayed on the Manitou group stand. Fully electric, it runs on a 48V battery. Thanks to its 15 m working height, the 150 AETJ-C is ideally suited to infrastructure maintenance. Easily transportable, it has a maximum lifting capacity of 200 kg and a maximum reach of 7.60 m. In order to diversify the number of applications, several specific attachments are presented, including the "4-in-1" bucket on the Gehl R190 skid-steer wheeled loader - for pushing, gripping, leveling and earth moving - or the 1,600 L reinforced grapple bucket which is coupled to the MLT 635 telehandler. The latter is equipped with a 73dB isophonic cabin, for more comfort, and also benefits from "Easy step" access, which facilitates entry to the operator's driving position. The maximum lifting capacity is 3.5 t, with a maximum lifting height of 6 m. The sloping blades of the roof grid enable the operator to benefit from very good visibility when handling at height. Lubrication points are centralized for easy maintenance. This model is perfectly suited to applications such as the treatment of green waste, cardboard, paper or glass and in particular for feeding shredders or hoppers.

Manitou is also exhibiting the MSI 40 semi-industrial forklift. With a 4-tonne lifting capacity, this machine offers versatility which allows for operations on both smooth as well as semi-smooth surfaces. With a particularly safe cabin and a high level of user comfort, the MSI 40 has everything required to be the ideal partner for all professionals in the recycling industry. This robust and comfortable model offers intuitive and fast handling.

To meet the constraints of handling large volumes of waste within limited spaces, and in dusty or dangerous environments, the Manitou group offers a variety of options: windscreen protection, cabin pressurization, weighing system, load status monitor, front/rear light protection, reversing camera and LED lighting are the options most often requested by environmental professionals. To provide a solution for every need, the Group also has a very wide range of tires, including honeycomb or puncture-proof tyres. “Our presence is in line with what we have been doing for many years: responding to every handling need, whether in the construction or agriculture market or in industries in general,” concludes Arnaud Boyer.

Increased productivity through associated services

The Manitou group offers services adapted to industrial needs. The “Customer Service Platform” (CSP), which has been available in Germany for 18 months, provides customers running a large fleet with a simplified way of managing their machines: thanks to a single point of contact for all their equipment, distributed over a number of sites, the customer need only ring one telephone number for all of its maintenance and after-sales service needs, with a response guaranteed in under 24 hours. As part of a continuous improvement approach, experience statistics and feedback are taken into account in order to develop this solution. This service is very popular with customers and is currently being implemented in the United Kingdom and Benelux.

Long-term rental offers with "ALL-IN" services, launched in 2016, continue to evolve to offer complete "turnkey" solutions which meet customers’ needs as effectively as possible. The new Flexible offer includes: rental of the machine; the maintenance contract; and the Easy MANAGER connected solution, which allows, via a smartphone or a computer, to use all the machine data for better use. Available on all the group's products, the Flexible "ALL-IN" offer is available in Germany, Benelux, Spain, France and Portugal.
