The results of the "Machine of the year 2015" contest were released Monday 23rd February on the TV set of Terre-Net Media, during the SIMA show which takes place from 22 to 26 February on the exhibition grounds of Paris-Nord Villepinte. The "Machine of the year" contest was initiated in 1997 by the German medium DLV (Deutschen Landwirtschaftsverlags) at the Agritechnica and is now organized in odd years by Terre-Net at the SIMA. The jury is composed of journalists from 11 European countries, all specialized in machinery.

KUHN ESPRO: less power required for greater output

The min-till seed drill ESPRO, unveiled for the first time ever in Paris, was awarded the 2015 prize in the seeding category. Available initially in two widths, 3.00 m and 6.00 m (ESPRO 3000 and ESPRO 6000 R), this easy-to-pull seed drill requires little power while ensuring precise work at high speed: up to 17 km/h depending on terrains and conditions, with a tractor of only 200 hp, for a working width of 6.00 m. Furthermore, owing to the ISOBUS compatibility, settings are easily made using a user-friendly touchscreen.
