The new Fassi models F65B and F70B

Fassi today presents to the market the new models that represent the renewal of its small crane range. There are two models with a load moment capacity of between 6 and 7 tm – the F65B and the F70B. They are even more lightweight than the predecessor models that they replace and they use the new boom link system for improved performance.

The use of UHSS (ultra high strength steels) in the construction of these cranes has resulted in a significant weight saving: a 9% reduction compared to the current F65A.0 model. A lighter crane gives more residual load capacity for the vehicles on which they are to be installed. In addition, the new linkage design of the primary and secondary joints has led to an increase in the hydraulic reach: a 9% increase in the F65B.1 model compared to the previous model, with significant increase in the working area.

The lifting performance of these new cranes relative to hydraulic reach and to the weight/power ratio is beyond any other crane on the market in this category. The engineers that designed these new models focused their attention on optimising the dimensions: the distributor is housed vertically on the crossbar, the size of the oil tank is more compact, and the overall structure is slimmer. To simplify maintenance when changing the configuration of the stabiliser crossbars, and eliminate the need for any welding work, the hydraulic extensions have been designed on a modular basis.

The F65B.1 model comes with the FX500 control system and in the e-dynamic version with the Fassi RCH/RCS radio control. For all the models, there are four base versions that can be fitted with a maximum of four hydraulic extensions. The addition of the Fassi XP system upgrades the crane to the 7 tm class, where it becomes the F70B.1.

These new cranes will be available from the end of January 2016.
