The next generation of “weigh cell spreaders”

With its new AXIS-M 30.1 EMC two-disc fertiliser spreader, RAUCH has taken a revolutionary step in “weigh cell technology”.

After 14 years of successful application of EMC technology in the hydraulically driven AXERA-H and AXIS-H fertiliser spreaders, RAUCH is now using the innovative, electronic mass flow control and regulation technology “EMC” for AXIS with a mechanic drive for the first time.

This system offers the huge advantage that the application rate is separately metered and regulated on the left and right side. Changes in fertiliser pouring properties are separately detected on both sides and compensated. Vibration and slopes no longer influence the metering accuracy. In this way, EMC offers a significantly higher metering accuracy in comparison to conventional weigh cell spreaders.

The intelligent automatic EMC metering system uses the generally acknowledged relationship between the fertiliser flow rate and the drive torque of the spreader disc.

Simply brilliant: The AXIS-M EMC measures the drive torque of the spreader disc by means of the torsion of the torsion axes - developed in cooperation with GKN Walterscheid - in the gearbox, separately for each side. By means of a high-frequency torsion measurement at one megahertz, the smallest torsion angles can also be precisely recorded.

For the driver, this means that he simply needs to enter the application rate and working width and he is ready to go. The spreading rate is set in seconds based on the current fertiliser pouring properties and the forward speed. It’s hard to imagine easier spreading with such precision.

An additional advantage is the price of the AXIS-M 30.1 EMC basic equipment with a maximum capacity of 3,000 kg and a working width of 12 to 42 m. The price of this system with its advanced metering accuracy is considerably lower than that of comparable RAUCH weigh cell spreaders.

With respect to the features of the system, RAUCH has left nothing out. AXIS-M EMC features the future-proof electronic control unit QUANTRON E2 with its large colour display for safe and convenient control.

Optionally available is the RAUCH QUANTRON Guide GPS control system with its precise OptiPoint headland and section control system. If required, AXIS-M 30.1 EMC+W permanently displays the precise tank filling level by means of two additional weigh cells.

The high-quality powder coating as well as the high degree of stainless steel components help to preserve the investment value for many years of operation under tough conditions.
