Assistance functions for greater productivity and safety

With a combination of radar, ultrasound and camera-based person detection, the new Collision Avoidance System (CAS) monitors the relevant danger zone, warns the driver if necessary or initiates a slowdown of the machine, including emergency braking.<br>IMAGE SOURCE: Bosch Rexroth AG

Bosch Rexroth AG has expanded its BODAS ecosystem by introducing two systems aimed at enhancing productivity, safety, and efficiency in heavy machinery: the Collision Avoidance System (CAS) and Kinematic Position Sensing (KPS). The CAS, which employs radar, ultrasound, and smart cameras, effectively prevents collisions by detecting up to 40 objects and using up to 12 sensors for ultrasound detection, in compliance with ISO standards. Meanwhile, KPS uses inertial measurement units to accurately sense machine movements, forming a foundation for partial automation. These systems can be seamlessly integrated with other Rexroth BODAS components, offering Level 1 and Level 2 automation solutions. Read more >>
