  • CM Labs and Kaleris have partnered to integrate terminal operating system workflows with immersive equipment simulation for port operator training.

  • This first-of-its-kind solution creates a unified training environment tailored to customer yard layouts and processes, enhancing real-world workflow practice.

  • The collaboration enables multi-role, team-based training, improving onboarding speed, operator proficiency, and confidence while reducing errors.

  • The integrated solution will be showcased at TOC Europe 2026, demonstrating how connected terminal operations workflows are brought to life through simulation technology.

The collaboration integrates Kaleris’ N4 Terminal Operating System with CM Labs’ immersive simulation technology to accelerate proficiency and improve coordination across ports teams.

CM Labs Simulations, the leading vendor for simulation-based training solutions for ports, has collaborated with Kaleris, a global provider of leading supply chain execution software, to bring terminal teams a more connected approach to operator training. The integration marks a first-of-its-kind solution that connects terminal operating system workflows with immersive equipment simulation.

The demonstration will be on display at TOC Europe 2026, taking place May 19-21 at Hamburg Messe und Congress in Hamburg, Germany. Attendees can visit Kaleris' booth #E46 and CM Labs’ booth #E40 to learn more.

The collaboration addresses a long-standing training gap for medium and large ports and global terminal operators. Live terminal operations require equipment operators and terminal operating systems to work together, yet operators have traditionally trained on each one separately. The result is slower ramp-up, more operator errors, and less confidence handling real conditions on the job.

By combining CM Labs’ engineering-grade simulation technology platform with Kaleris’ N4 Terminal Operating System, the integrated solution creates a unified training environment configured to match each customer’s yard layout, processes, and data. Trainees can practice real-world workflows, from yard planning to equipment handling, in a realistic setting that helps skills transfer more directly to the terminal. The result is faster onboarding, continuous upskilling, higher proficiency, and greater operator confidence.

“For terminal operators, the value is both practical and strategic,” said Lisa Barbieri, VP of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships at CM Labs. “By connecting system logic, operator behavior, and equipment execution, CM Labs and Kaleris are helping terminals improve training consistency, reduce operational errors, and build workforce readiness across increasingly complex operations.”

The integration also gives terminal teams a shared view of how decisions made in the operating system translate into equipment movement in the yard. This helps connect planning, supervision, and operation in a training environment before those same interactions happen in live operations.

“For the first time, this integrated demonstration enables multi-role, team-based training, allowing dispatchers, supervisors, and equipment operators to train together in a shared simulation environment that mirrors live terminal operations and reflects the real dynamics of cooperative yard management,” said Jennifer Blythe, VP of Customer Support at Kaleris. “Successful terminals depend on people understanding not just how to operate equipment, but how to work within dynamic systems. By unifying N4 workflows with high-fidelity simulation, we’re helping customers accelerate user adoption, extract greater value from their infrastructure, and build confidence across teams as operations scale and evolve.”
