Delivery of last order of past business year

The completed business year (October 2014 to September 2015) ended for Langendorf with a little premiere: for the first time in the company's history more than 1,000 trailers were ordered in one year. The last order from Brandenburg was numbered 1,001 and has now been delivered to the customer.

The steel bowl-type tipper of type SKS-HS 24 was ordered by company Baustoffhandel & Transporte Ralf Karle from Friesack at the end of September. The trailer was handed over to the customer in the presence of some representatives of professional journals and local papers.

Dr. Klaus P. Strautmann, managing director at Langendorf GmbH, took the opportunity to give an overview of the company's development in the past few years.

Turnover as well as the number of delivered trailers has risen continuously since the year 2013. In the last business year the Langendorf group achieved a total turnover of 47 million Euros. In the same period of time (October 2014 to September 2015) in total 861 units were produced.

The number of employees has only slightly increased: on September 30, 2015 a total of 265 people were employed at Langendorf, thereof 30 apprentices.

The increased trailer production with approximately the same number of employees can be explained by the restructuring measures completed at two thirds.

Since 2013 the company invested about 6 million Euros. New production halls and an improved internal logistics, changed production flows as well as a new parts supply have contributed, besides different new machines, to a higher production. Also for the coming years the company plans to invest between 1.5 and 2 million Euros per year.

At the same time the production range was revised: the tipper range now consists of possible combinations of a great number of standardized components and parts, without having to forego the renowned Langendorf flexibility. At the Bauma a tipping trailer with bowl-type box made of aluminium will be shown again for the first time in a while.

In the field of Inloaders the path is taken for light construction regarding glass transporting vehicles and for light construction with an increase of functionality regarding Inloaders transporting concrete parts.

The weight of the new Inloader is reduced by around 500 kg. It will be shown at Bauma in Munich for the first time.

As concerns the low-loaders, the company concentrates on the "standard range".

Thanks to a streamlining of the variants as well as the change to modular assembly there is the reconnection to the market. It was focused on short delivery times, excellent quality and robust production for a long lifetime. It is nearly completed, Langendorf is on the right track towards former sales figures.

"We want to retain and strengthen our status as world market leader in the field of Inloaders" summed up Dr. Strautmann. "In addition we want to make the company the state-of-the-art tipper manufacturer in Europe. There is no other manufacturer having such a long and outstanding expertise in the field of tippers - whether as semi-trailer or as fixed structure on multi-axle motor vehicles" Dr. Strautmann said.

The presentation contained many further details which were received with great interest by the audience.

After a factory tour and a snack it was said good-bye to the guests as well as to Mr. Karle with his new bowl-type steel tipper. A model of his tipper lasered into glass was handed over by Dr. Strautmann to Ralf Karle as gift as a memory for the 1,001st order.
