Hydraulic fold-down side wall

On conventional tippers, it is impossible to prevent a portion of the transported goods from falling in front of or behind the wheels of the trailer when dumping to the side. This is particularly critical when dumping sideways into receiving hoppers and a portion of the load still remains in front of the hopper. In addition, many unloading stations do not allow the tractor drivers to exit the towing vehicle for safety reasons.

For this reason, a solution was needed to be able to open the side wall remote controlled and to transfer the load without losses into various receiving hoppers.

Kröger has developed a new side wall for this purpose, which can be folded down hydraulically by 90°. This ensures smooth and precise transfer of the load. The side wall also serves as a dumping extension and bridges up to 60cm towards the delivery point!

The controls are operated comfortably using the tractor hydraulic system. This system provides several advantages at the same time:

- Bridging of 60 cm towards the delivery point

- Tightness at the hinge point is maintained

- The load cannot spill to the sides

- Work safety is improved, because the driver no longer needs to climb out of the tractor.

- No dirt on the road after dumping

- The inner dimensions also allow for the transportation of pallets.

Prototypes are already being tested on the field. The equipment is expected to be available for delivery as of autumn 2016.
