Two seater also for pavements
Kärcher is extending its range of compact municipal vacuum sweepers by a model in the cubic one metre class: the MC 130. This robust and manoeuvrable machine weighs less than the permitted total weight of 3.5 t, even with maximum load. According to paragraph 35 of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulation, it is suitable for use on pavements and can be driven with a standard driving licence without the need for further qualification. The MC 130 offers a high level of service friendliness, ergonomics and operating comfort and thanks to an extensive range of attachment options is ideal for year-round use in cities, municipalities and industry - for both cleaning operatives and service providers.
Thanks to its low net weight, this new vacuum sweeper is able to accept loads up to 1100 kg before the permissible total weight is reached. This reduces disposal trips to a minimum.
Ergonomics took centre stage in the development of the spacious double-seat cab. The chassis decoupled-concept and four-point support eliminates disturbing vibrations. With 74 dB(A), the interior noise level is particularly low for a vehicle of this class. The glazed cab offers a good all-round view for safe driving and working. The operator sits above the front axle close to the attachment with a clear view whilst working. In many cases, the second seat, e.g. for another operator who carries out manual cleaning tasks ad hoc, makes the use of an additional vehicle unnecessary.
The intuitive operation via the multi-functional display in the centre of the steering wheel allows safe vehicle control. All necessary adjustments are made at a glance - including the reversing and suction nozzle camera images. The standard single brush control is operated via two joysticks on the arm rest. Self-explanatory symbols facilitate parameter and brush speed adjustment. The operator can select saved adjustments via a short-cut key and immediately start working.
Three attachment mounting spaces at the front, rear and above the engine allow the combination of several operations, e.g. mowing and simultaneous green waste pick-up. The quick change system in the attachment mounting space on the trailer reduces working time by using the vehicle's hydraulic system. This makes conversion easy and effortless. With a speed of up to 40 km/h, changing from one location of use to another takes place quickly, whereby the long wheelbase of 1700 mm ensures a smooth drive.
Kärcher consistently pursues a standard part strategy within the municipal machine family. The MC 130 therefore uses the reliable chassis of the MIC 50 implement carrier. The wide range of standard parts simplifies maintenance and repairs when a fleet consists of several models. After appropriate training by Kärcher, this work can be carried out at low-cost by own personnel.
The Kärcher MC 130 was awarded a silver medal in the innovation contest at the demopark+demogolf 2015 trade fair.
