New controller improves processes in warehouse logistics

At the LogiMAT in Stuttgart, ABM Greiffenberger Antriebstechnik GmbH presents a new controller for intralogistics. It is highly versatile and improves processes in the container conveyor technology. It shows its strengths especially in combination with energy-efficient gear units and motors of ABM Greiffenberger.

For the time being, the new controller has been designed for a motor power of up to 0.75 kW and works with asynchronous motors as well as permanently excited motors at a temperature range of -30° up to +50°C without any problems. The ABM Sinochron Motors can be operated sensorless without encoder feedback and so they are extremely reliable. In practice, they are distinguished by high efficiencies, high power density and compact dimensions.

Users can install the controller and put it into operation very easily. Pluggable connections ensure the easy and process-reliable installation. Preassembled cables can be connected without any special tools. An NFC interface ensures the quick start of operations of the BUS-compatible controllers. Users adjust the necessary parameters according to the operating conditions simply by means of Near Field Communication (NFC) via PC or Smartphone-App.

The decentralized controller has been designed for the direct assembly to the motor. Alternatively, it can be attached to the wall, separated from the motor. Moreover, several drives can be operated from one common power supply (Daisy Chain). The aluminium die-cast housing is light but robust. It can be used without any problems even in harsh environmental conditions. The ABM novelty can be flexibly used in many intralogistics applications of the container conveyor technology e.g. in roller conveyors, belt conveyors or curved conveyors.

In warehouse logistics, a quick and process-reliable handling of goods is necessary in order to fulfill the customers‘ requirements for prompt supply. Therefore, especially the conveyor technology must show the highest equipment availability. The roller, belt and curved conveyors which are mainly used are being combined depending on the specific plant. It is advantageous to use an angular gear drive as necessary drive unit as it can be space-savingly installed to the conveyor technology then. For this case, ABM Greiffenberger offers system solutions as e.g. the angular gear KG62 in connection with the SINOCHRON® Motor and mounted controller. The drive combinations are highly versatile and offer efficient solutions for a quick and reliable handling of goods.
