Experts of the Institute of Car Market Research analyzed the statistics of vehicle registrations in Ukraine during September and identified the top models in three segments of truck tractors: import of used vehicles, domestic resale and purchase of new ones.

Dynamics of the truck tractor market

In September, Ukrainians purchased 2,700 new and used truck tractors. This is 38.6% less than in the same period of last year 2022 and 6.9% less than in August 2023.

The share of domestic sales was almost half ( 48.2%, 1.3 thousand ) of all tractors purchased during the month.

1,200 used ones were brought from abroad, which accounted for 44.5%.

7.3% of truck tractors were purchased new, which in quantitative terms equals 195 units.

The most popular tractors on the domestic market

DAF XF remains the most popular tractor unit on the domestic market in September in Ukraine. 342 contracts for the sale of such models were concluded. Renault Magnum (169 units) took second place. The third place was taken by Volvo FH (161 units), and the fourth place by MAN TGX (137 units). Renault Premium also entered the top five (88 units).

The most popular used tractors brought from abroad

In July, as for many months in a row, used MAN TGXs (335 units) were most imported from abroad.

DAF XF is in second place (309 units), and Volvo FH is in third place (167 units). The fourth step was taken by Scania R-Series (74 units), and the top five is rounded off by Mercedes-Benz Actros (73 units).

The most popular new tractors

Among the truck tractor brands, Scania was the most popular in September (97 units, 49.5%). The second place was taken by Volvo. 31 of them were registered during this period. (15.8% of the total number). It is being overtaken by DAF (25 units, 12.8%).

Scania R-Series (54 units) became the most popular of the models. Another Scania, G-Series (34 pcs.), took second place. The third step was taken by Volvo FH (31 units).

DAF XF was in fourth place (21 units), and MAN TGX (19 units) was fifth.
