Vicon is Introducing a Self-Propelled Sprayer – Vicon iXdrive

Vicon is becoming a full liner in field sprayers with the introduction of the iXdrive self-propelled field sprayer. The Vicon iXdrive 4240 and 5240 will be launched at Agritechnica 2015 in Hanover (DE).

Ergonomic Design and Excellent Comfort

“The iXdrive self-propelled sprayer is designed with big focus on reliability, durability and easy maintenance to secure a cost efficient operation”, says Jeroen van Turenhout, product manager. “The iXdrive is a combination of ergonomics, economics, efficiency and comfort in one sprayer. Spraying jobs are often carried out in small time frames, so high capacity is required. The cab is spacious, has a good visibility and gives the operator all the comfort he needs”, according to Van Turenhout.

Vicon Spraying Technology

The complete EasySet control panel is located between the wheels, at the left hand side of the iXdrive. The control panel includes the electric valves, pumps, filters, chemical inductor and the hose connections. So it has everything you need for filling and emptying the tank in one place. The control panel is well protected behind a cover.

The iXdrive comes with the Vicon iXclean Pro automatic valve management system as standard. This means that all functions can be controlled from the cab. Switching between filling, agitation, spraying, diluting, priming, rinsing and tank cleaning is extremely easy: just push one button!

The IsoMatch GEOcontrol application is available as an option on the IsoMatch Tellus terminal. In combination with a GPS receiver, it fulfils the needs in terms of easy, smart and efficient farming. The operator can stay focused on driving, while IsoMatch GEOcontrol lightens the work load.

Professional and High Tech Spray Booms

The iXdrive will be available in combination with the HSS spray boom from 27 up to 40 metres or the HSA 24 up to 30 metres aluminium spray boom. The HSS three-part-folded spray boom profile combines a minimum of weight with maximum strength and stability. The high tech HSA aluminium boom protects the nozzle holders efficiently within the bottom profile and is designed for easy cleaning. Aluminium bonding instead of welding saves on weight and has remarkable strength.

Both spray booms come with the iXflow spray line recirculation system as standard, with pneumatic nozzle control to create a fast-reacting spraying system, well suited to higher spraying speed and automatic functions with GPS.

Furthermore, the iXdrive is equipped with a strongly suspended parallelogram which gives optimal stability in different road or field conditions.

The Solution for Optimal Crop Protection

For optimal protection of the crop the iXdrive is available with three different ground clearance and track width combinations. The hydraulic adjustable track width ensures optimal row spacing possibilities in different crops.

The hydro pneumatic suspension on both axles provides operator comfort and boom stability in transport and field operation. The 3D rear axle suspension allows axle movement, but limits the track influence on the spray boom. The strong chassis with optimal gravity point brings a perfect 50:50 weight balance in every situation, without any influence from tank filling or spray boom position. Manoeuvrability is guaranteed with 2-wheel/4-wheel steering with standard ErgoDrive functionality and crab steering.
