SANY has launched the STT4501E2-D, a fully electric terminal tractor optimized for the European port handling market. This model features a 281.9 kWh battery, supporting a range of up to 120 kilometers or 18 hours of operation with a 75-tonne trailer capacity. The design incorporates energy-efficient technologies such as thermal management and enhanced braking energy recovery. The electric drive offers significant reductions in energy and maintenance costs, aiding the transition towards electric fleets in port logistics. SSP Seizmeir Straßen- und Pflasterbau GmbH successfully completed a base layer rehabilitation project in Bavaria utilizing Wirtgen 's CR series cold recycling technology, significantly reducing construction time by 6 to 8 weeks and minimizing material costs and CO₂ emissions. The method employed a complete Wirtgen Group machine train, including the use of foamed bitumen and reclaimed asphalt pavement to create a bitumen-stabilized base layer without material transport or stockpiling. This innovative approach not only involves cutting-edge machinery but also ensures minimal traffic disruption, allowing heavy vehicles to maintain access.
